An invoice that gets paid on time
Invoice — invoice number, date, due date, and billing details, with Net 30 already in place as the default term. A stated due date is the single biggest lever on how fast you get paid; “on receipt” is not a due date.
Line Items — numbered rows with description, quantity, unit price, and amount, totalling into subtotal, tax, and TOTAL. Itemising properly is what stops the “can you break this down?” email that adds a week.
Payment Info — bank name, account name, account number, routing number, plus PayPal and Venmo lines. Every way a client might pay, on one sheet, so nobody has to ask.

What this is not
Not invoicing software. It will not send, chase, or track payments automatically, and there is no client portal. For a handful of invoices a month it is faster than a subscription; past that, use a tool.
